Diego Rocha Biography
Playing among a pile of threads, mixed up with pieces of fabrics, pencils and crayons, was a little boy. Amazed at the vision of those colourful pieces, and furthermore, at the fact that he was allowed to play in such a heavenly
environment, Diego Rocha
was brought up with a different concept of the world. Needles and scissors, in his world, were toys of the gods, prohibited to other children. Allowed to him. His mom
was a Pattern Maker, and the son, from early childhood, developed a passion for fashion.
A few years into adulthood, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Diego found himself crunching numbers in a financial world that was meaning less to him. Although
successful, he decided to go back to his roots, and reclaim the passion that
fulfilled his childhood. After going back to school and learning craft, a new designer was born. That is why
Diego Rocha's line of handbags is his own expression of celebrating life and beauty.
Not only did he leave his old career behind, he saw even further into his future leaving his home
country for the USA. The first stop was New York where he would further his studies
working with other creative professionals and finally settling in Chicago where Diego Rocha Designs is based.
It requires no expert to examine one of his bags and admire the
craftsmanship in it. Each of them is a work of art, planned and build up
carefully, to bring out shine and class
without ever jeopardising comfort. Diego himself handpicks the raw material, patterns and colours. He is himself all the steps of the progress, and that's what makes each of them unique,
